1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Behov ("Behov", "we", "us"). They govern your access to and use of the Behov website, mobile applications, and related services (together, the "Service"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

You accept these Terms when you create an account. Because Behov uses one-time-code (OTP) verification rather than passwords, entering and submitting the verification code we send you constitutes your electronic signature and your agreement to these Terms.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use the Service.
You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping access to your phone number or email secure, since these are how you sign in.
You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your profile up to date.
One person or business per account unless we explicitly allow team or multi-location profiles under a paid plan.

3. What Behov is — and isn't

Behov is a platform that helps people discover, connect with, and message local skilled professionals ("Creators"/"Experts") and those seeking them ("Explorers"/"Clients"). Behov provides the venue and tools for these connections.

Behov is not a party to any agreement, transaction, or arrangement between users. We do not employ Creators, do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any service offered or performed, and do not verify the qualifications of users except where we explicitly state otherwise (e.g. a verified badge). Any contract for services is solely between the users involved.

4. Your responsibilities & conduct

You agree not to:

Violate any law or the rights of others, or post false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
Harass, threaten, defame, or discriminate against other users.
Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation, qualifications, or location.
Use the Service to send spam, scrape data, or interfere with its operation or security.
Circumvent any fee, messaging limit, or other restriction of your plan.

Your use of the community features is also governed by our Community Guidelines, which are incorporated into these Terms.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you post (profile information, portfolio photos and videos, listings, messages, reviews, and forum posts). By posting content, you grant Behov a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate and promote the Service. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to everything you post, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

6. Subscriptions, billing & referrals

Behov offers a free tier (Foundation) and paid subscription tiers (Artisan and Keystone). Full details are on our Pricing page.

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis until cancelled.
You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you will not be charged again.
Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable for partial periods.
Referral credits and Founding Crew benefits are subject to the rules described on the Pricing page and may be modified or discontinued. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash.
We may change prices with reasonable advance notice; changes apply to future billing periods.

7. Suspension & termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure for us or other users, or for prolonged inactivity. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. content licenses already granted, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will survive.

8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any user or service meets your expectations.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Behov will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service or from any interaction with another user. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid Behov in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by other means. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
